Partnering with friends in Ghana, West Africa in education, rural development, and relationships.
In November of this year we got a call from the Executive Director of Village of Hope, Fred Asare. He had a request to add a young lady with a special circumstance to the sponsorship family of H4H.
Nora did not grow up as a resident of Village of Hope. Nora’s father abandoned his family, and so the care of Nora and his younger sister was solely born by their mother. Nora was fortunate enough to be attending school at Hope College the past couple of years.
Sadly, her mother passed away during the time she was writing her final year national 12th grade exam the spring of 2017. After the mother’s funeral, her aunt took over the care of her young sister who is now living with her aunt in another town. Village of Hope has been caring for Nora since that time. She entered college in September 2017 and is studying for a diploma in Bilingual Secretarialship.
Mr. Asare has such a compassionate heart for all children in need. We are thankful he thought of Heartbeat for Hope to help them ensure that Nora is able to continue her education and care to become a self-sufficient adult and productive Ghanaian citizen.
